Sponsored through Degree studies
Experience gained in Civil Engineering Division ( Majors )
and pre – contract work in Technical Support Group ( Hemel Hempstead )
Appointed as Project Quantity Surveyor early 1984.
Walcon Construction Limited
1985 – 1987 Employed as Visiting Surveyor for numerous Civil Engineering/Building
Projects. Experience increasingly gravitated towards Building.
1988 – 1989 Promoted to Senior Quantity Surveyor. Personal responsibility for
successful Arbitration settlement of approximately £400,000.00 during
this period.
1990 – 1992 Employed as Group Contractual Claims Surveyor, with particular
responsibility for pre – contract claims strategy, recommendations as to
matters of Building Contract Law to the Board, and advice as to
arbitral / litigation proceedings.
Preparation of contractual claims documentation, submission of same and
successful negotiation undertaken to settlement. Defence of contractual
claims by sub – contractors also conducted. Liaison with outside
consultants / expert witnesses undertaken.
